Tasman Forests Ltd have requested that all users of Gilbert Lodge and the surrounding campground must stay out of any adjacent Forestry land. This also applies to the road past the camping grass area. They will be enforcing this strongly and if any users of Gilbert Lodge are caught in their forest areas it will jeopardize our good relationship with them.
If there are any camp activities that Scout Groups would like to be able to use the forest land (e.g. a blind rope course or walks) These activities can still happen if a permit is applied for a few weeks beforehand.
Please contact Tasman Forests through their website for the required permit.
Friends of Gilbert Lodge (FOGL) would really appreciate, if all Lodge users obey this request. This will help keep our access through the locked forestry gate into this forest area open for scouting users in the future.
